Geske Dijkstra is an Emeritus Professor of “Governance and Global Development” at Erasmus University Rotterdam, where she has spent over 26 years in teaching, research, and advisory roles. As a development economist with nearly 30 years of experience, her expertise spans international development, global governance, aid effectiveness, and the impact of public policies on economic growth and poverty reduction. Her research primarily focuses on Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America.

A Professor of Political Science, African & Women’s Studies at Brooklyn College, The City University New York (CUNY), New York, United States of America. My research interests include: Diaspora Studies and Contemporary African Immigration, Globalization and Gender Relations with a focus on Africa within the world economy, Globalization, Politics, Gender and Governance; Sub-Saharan African Political Economy, Democratization and Economic Liberalization.

She has earned recognition as a leading authority in sociogical analysis, population studies, gender and development issues and social policy in Nigeria.
